Lonsdale Boxing Club has been serving the Regina area for over 20 years and provides a great environment to learn boxing and compete. We work with several charities in Regina and run programs that work with at risk youth. These programs give them a safe place and keep them off the streets and away from poor lifestyle choices. It gives them a chance to be part of our family and learn discipline and respect as well as participating in a great sport.
Our coaches are certified and are always ready to help. All our coaches and individuals involved with Lonsdale are volunteers. We are a registered non-profit organization in Regina, SK. Community involvement is a top priority for Lonsdale. A major fundraiser for our community is "Fight for Tomorrow". This unique annual event is hosted by Lonsdale Boxing Club in support of In Your Corner. We have also teamed up with the Heart & Stroke Foundation to help raise funds and awareness. We host an annual show called "Battle of the Prairies" in which all members can participate and learn about the sport as well as promote healthy lifestyles for young and old. We work with several schools in Regina to help at risk youth. Our programs allow them to come to our club and have a safe place to be. In turn, we teach them discipline, respect and make sure they know the value of a healthy and safe lifestyle.
We do not turn anyone away simply because they cannot afford to join. If lower-income families are struggling to find help to join, we will make sure they are still able to participate, even if that means using our own funds to help them with fees. Our fees are kept very minimal to allow everyone to participate. We work with First Nations as well as with Kids Sport.
We want all our programs to benefit everyone in the community. One of our other programs is Mini Gloves and is geared towards ages 5-10. It encourages youth to live a healthy lifestyle of being fit while having fun.
